s/s 2010 new york: bcbg max azria.

#NYFW collections Uncategorized

at bcbg, lubov and max azria were totally focused on dresses, as no pants were shown in his spring show today. there was something for everyone, no matter if you love the eighties short and tight silhouette (complete with sheer panels and ruching) or if you’re more of a flower child and love long dresses for day or night (with one shoulder and uneven hemlines or complete with embellished necklines). the color story was very cheerful (acid yellow, bright orange, grass green and plum, mixed with white and black) and the prints had an air of psychedelia. overall, it was a good collection but not their strongest…some of the pieces reminded me of herve leger (which azria also designs) and some dresses seemed a tad overworked (with the prints and ruching and asymmetrical design). the best thing is that the dresses won’t break the bank, so you can get pieces with an air of balmain or balenciaga for a fraction of the cost.

if you’re in town for fashion night out, lubov and max will be recreating the show tonight at their fifth avenue and 40th street store and select pieces will be available for purchase. even if you aren’t going to be there, two looks are already up on bcbg.com to buy.
