mary-kate and ashley olsen have brought the row so far from their quest for the perfect t-shirt, although the idea of the perfect piece as a wardrobe building block is really the idea behind the line. and for pre-fall, it’s more of the same: beautiful clothes made simply and without fuss or fanfare, like a striped midi skirt, short wrapped jackets, pointelle turtleneck dresses, ribbed slit neck sweaters, and houndstooth blazers. mk&a never do anything by chance, so their model choices for the collection—which included 60-something linda rodin—made perfect sense when you think about the woman who wears the row. i hope i can be as chic (and still rocking a leather skirt!) at 65.
