the kenneth cole show is always the official “opener” of ny fashion week, but it’s usually not a must see. not so this season, as cole loosened his traditionally stiff silhouette and embraced more color, looser shapes and sheer fabrics. high waist pants were paired with silk charmeuse tanks, ruffled wrap shirts with bermuda shorts and loose trenches covered empire waist dresses. cole kept with his usual muted color palette (mauve, taupe, gray, black, cream, navy) but added shots of fushia, purple, yellow, green and red.
