fall/winter 2013 new york: j. crew.

#NYFW collections Uncategorized

sometimes when you look at a collection, the styling makes you want everything to put together the looks in that exact way. and sometimes you look at a collection, and you immediately see individual pieces that can take your current wardrobe up a notch. that’s what i see when i was looking at images from the j.crew fall presentation. womenswear head tom mora used his moroccan roots as a starting point for the looks, which included tile print suiting, embroidered silk pencil skirts, beaded tees and button up shirts, and silk jacquard ankle pants—all of which could go with this season’s flippy mini (mora did one in a tapestry print) or leather pant. the coats were fabulous (i see at least three that are on my wishlist) as were the accessories (i never met a beaded pump i didn’t like). although i have to wait until august to see the collection, i see some styling cues i can try right now—and again when i add some of pieces later on.
