on the heels of my friday post on spring dressing inspiration comes a trend that i’m excited for, the fuller, fifties style skirt. championed on the runways of christian dior and more, the silhouette is fun, flirty, and decidedly ladylike. the key is finding one that sits right below your belly button, fits closely, but not tight, at the top and flares out at the widest part of the thighs. it doesn’t have to be a stiff fabric; something more floaty (like a silk charmeuse) is actually better if you are more of a pear shape. the most flattering length is right below the knee, but if you’re taller, you can go longer, and always finish off the look with a pointy toe pump or simple sandal.
