small bites.

vera wang unveiled looks from her new lower priced collection for kohl’s called simply vera. the collection includes apparel, jewelry, shoes, hosiery, intimates, belts, handbags, home, and, eventually, eyewear, and most pieces will retail between $30 and $70. some higher end looks like a brocade coat, will sell for over $100.

wang said her inspiration for the line were her two teenage daughters, and the line will range in sizes from 2 to 16 (small to XL) and will have “greatest hits” from her collection and lavender labels.

over at ysl, stefano pilati has created edition 24, a seasonless line of clothing comprises pieces a woman would need “for 24 hours in a day,” from suiting to beachwear to eveningwear. handbags and travel accessories are included. The line, which retails under $1360, will be sold in all ysl boutiques, plus neiman marcus, harrods and browns in london, colette in paris and lane crawford in hong kong starting next month. pilati is quick not to call this a diffusion line, stating “it address fashion in a more accessible way.…It’s about building a wardrobe; finding everything you need. And it’s not necessarily linked to the direction of a season. Obviously, it will appeal to a broader clientele — and younger.”
