you may not have heard of raoul yet, but it’s definitely a line that’s on the upswing. started in 2002 as a men’s shirts line, designers douglas and odile benjamin of singapore began expanding into ready-to-wear for both men and women plus accessories a few years ago. the spring 2013 collection was inspired by nature, with pretty spring colors like mint, lemon yellow, peach, and pink mixed with bolder shades like cobalt and kelly green. i loved the feminine pieces, like scalloped edged leather shorts, a cropped jeweled jacket, pretty tie-neck blouses, cropped ankle pants, and halter neck jumpsuits. the accessories were also stellar, with two toned canvas and leather totes, cross body flaps, and top handle lady bags. right now, the line is available online at shopbop, neiman marcus, and matches, and hopefully soon at some san francisco boutiques.
