spring 2015 new york: wes gordon.

#NYFW collections Uncategorized

wes gordon’s spring collection was like an additional layer built on top of the fab resort one that he did back in june. it had a grown-up sophistication that didn’t feel matronly or fussy, even with fabrics like lace and tweed, and maxi and midi length skirts & dresses. he tempered that by adding youthfulness through denim, a modern tonal windowpane check, and subtle metallic threads. something else i love—most of the collection was made in the u.s. (a few pieces were done in italy). it’s nice to see young designers supporting the garment industry here.

interview has a great feature on gordon, including some behind-the-scenes shots of the putting together and inspiration behind the collection.
