rachel roy’s spring collection was inspired by the film the lover, set in late 20s french indochina, with a different take on women in men’s clothes than what we saw at band of outsiders. the show was big on separates like kimono-wrap jackets, ankle length cigarette pants, crochet sweaters, sleeveless shirtdresses and silk pajama pants. i loved the mostly black and white looks, with accents like salmon trim on sashes or mustard yellow piping on a wrap dress.
