spring 2006 london: giles deacon and aquascutum.

collections Uncategorized

what designer could get malgosia, shalom, linda, and stella (not to mention one of my personal faves amanda moore) back on the runway? london’s giles deacon. his corr inspired collection featured short satin shift dresses, beaded bustiers with flowy skirts, and cropped cigarette pants with fitted jackets. for evening, the clothes moved to more embellished pieces: sheer bustiers and skirts with briefs, pointelle cardigans, and long micropleated gowns.

aquascutum, whose f/w collection was stellar, struggled a bit in its s/s presentation. the collection of weathered trenches, seersucker and plaid tank dresses, and toile prints were recycled over and over in different incarnations. in the end, the collection looked very reminiscent of burberry prorsum.
