shoes can be functional, fanciful, or anywhere in between. you may have shoes in your closet that are just your standard footwear, but there are others that lift your mood every time you put them on. i’ve been fascinated by all things reed krakoff recently, and this sandal, the collage, is one of my favorites of the season. it’s a mix of suede, metallic leather, python and lizard that comes in two colorways: cinnabar/taupe/pink and black/mercury/ink. the delicate ankle strap, slight platform, and thicker heel makes the shoe sturdy, the different textures & colors and organic shapes makes it arresting. and while it’s on the spendy side, it’s a shoe that would look equally at home with slouchy jeans and a grey t-shirt as it would with a cocktail dress at a wedding. no matter the other trappings, it’s a shoe that gets noticed.
