s/s 2009 new york: the gap.

collections Uncategorized

anyone in fashion (and in design in general) knows that eventually everything comes back around again. case in point, the collection that patrick robinson showed for the gap was very reminiscent of his work for perry ellis, not to mention what the gap had in store this past summer. robinson used sun-faded colors like pale grey, mint, and rose with white and khaki, and even included brighter shades on swimwear. so what will you be getting at the retailer come spring? cargo shorts, cuffed bermudas, cutoff sweatershirts, boyfriend striped cardigans, chambray blazers, and loose prairie style dresses. even the shoes were different colors of the pierre hardy platforms from spring. maybe gap is thinking they shouldn’t mess with a good thing, but a little bit of change is always good.
