claudia schiffer in a chanel ad from the nineties

Many ad campaigns recently have simply fallen flat. with the invasion of celebrities, some of the ads i used to look forward to, like versace and louis vuitton, are completely boring. and most of them are simply mediocre. every season, michael kors does a blonde jet setter, ralph does aristocracy, etc. even marc jacobs, who always does a cool, quirky campaign, did one last season where the models where so small you couldn’t even see the clothes.

that’s why i’m beyond excited for some for the spring ads. many big guns are bringing in, for lack of a better word, the big guns. karl lagerfeld has moved on to a new muse, claudia schiffer. she’ll also be appearing in the vuitton campaign, reprising her role as a sexy nurse alongside eva herzigova, naomi campbell, and two of my favorites, angela lindvall and stephanie seymour. for the nineties era supers, gisele bundchen is doing versace, which was among my pick for worse campaign for f/w, despite the presence of kate moss. hopefully ms. moss can redeem herself in the spring ysl campaign, being shot again by inez and vinoodh. kate is also reprising her role for roberto cavalli (also shot by i&v, and this time without pete doherty).

of course, there’s enough fashion houses to go around for all the girls out there. sasha pivovarova is back for prada and she’s bringing resort campaign buddy meghan collison with her. anja rubik will be fronting oscar de la renta, and jessica stam is back for dior with coco rocha and kasia struss.
