getting repetitive.

don’t get me wrong…i love phillip lim. i’ve been to a few trunkshows, got the meet the man at one (and he styled me!) and he’s been on a roll recently, with his store opening and his cfda emerging womenswear designer of the year award. but today there was news that lim was one of the ten nominees for the cfda/fashion fund award, to be given out on november 15. the winner receives $200,000 and two runner-ups receive $50,000 each, plus mentoring and guidance from a top industry executive. as much as i love lim, i’m starting to feel that he’s reaching maximum oversaturation. and not that he isn’t talented, but there are other very deserving designers out there that can benefit from the money and contacts that winning (or coming in second place) can offer.

the other nominees are:
scott sternberg of band of outsiders
erin fetherston
nunthirat koi suwannagate of koi
rogan gregory of rogan
gabriel asfour, angela donhauser and adi gil of threeasfour
lisa mayock and sophie buhai of vena cava
victoria bartlett of vpl
