for this week, a special san francisco only edition of the friday five dubbed the friday four:
to celebrate their first anniversary, banana republic’s accessories only store edition (located inside the san francisco centre on market & 5th) asked vietnamese designer chan luu to create a special collection of her signature wrap bracelets. the designs combine custom dyed thread or leather with silver, gold, or semi-precious stones. with four styles and 17 pieces total to choose from at a range of price from $95 to $225, it’s the perfect way to add a personal touch this summer and beyond. the only place you can get the designs is the edition store until august, when they will be sold online and at select br stores.
capsule sf is back featuring clothing, bags, jewelry, paper good and home goods, from local designers. the all day event happens on the hayes valley green sunday from 11am to 6pm. some designers that i love that will be showing are:
– colleen mauer, whose mixed metal jewelry has a decidedly organic feel
– peasants and travelers, makers of innovative bags for travel and work (like a tote made of cork)
– the girl and the rhino, whose hilarious graphic t-shirts let you in the mind of pigeons, race horses, and rabbits.
if you’re in hayes valley on saturday, pop into the storefront all vintage everything pop-up shop. the shop will feature some of san francisco’s best vintage collectors of clothing, shoes, bags, jewelry and more. even better is free sangria, cupcakes by tiny treats and fashion photography by michelle m. mitchell. storefront will also be open sunday during capsule sf with raffles and giveaways, plus more free cocktails and hot local designers.
if you love bags as much as i do, hit up the rebecca minkoff sample sale tomorrow at 11 minna from 10am to 4pm. minkoff has extended her line way beyond her best-selling “morning after” bag, and has some great new styles (like the main squeeze foldover, pictured above) for spring 2010.
