Vogue bumped Golden Globe winner Hilary Swank off the Feburary cover to feature Melania Knauss. Who is Ms. Knauss, you ask? Well, she’s soon to be Mrs. Donald Trump. Knauss graces the cover in a Dior Haute Couture gown made of white duchess satin with a 13 foot train and a 16 foot veil. And she’s referred to on the cover as “Donald Trump’s New Bride.” I’d be horribly offended if I was called that, but that’s just me. Hilary Swank is the one that should be offended.
What really stinks is that the issue is very good besides the cover and 14+ page article inside about Knauss gown search.
actually two signs:
Jennifer Lopez is set to show her J.Lo fashion line at 7th on Sixth’s Olympus Fashion Week in Manhattan’s Bryant Park in February. Me thinks this will be along the lines of what Baby Phat does; they do a somewhat stellar runway collection that never ends up in stores.
Lil’Kim is jumping into the fashion design bandwagon with not one, but two collections called Hollyhood. The first, to launch in February, is a collection of women’s tops, denim and activewear. The second will be a higher-end, limited edition to launch later in the year. She has tapped Marc Jacobs (wtf??) as a consultant.
Kim says of the line, “I’m not looking to redesign another sweatsuit or bubble coat.”
We’ll see…
