s/s 2009 new york: herve leger.

collections Uncategorized

in just talking about moving forward, it was nice to see max azria doing that at herve leger. instead of rehashing the banded dress in every imaginable variation, he branched out while still keeping the silhouette short and tight. dresses featured different necklines (keyhole, one shoulder, strapless, boatneck, and v-neck), had delicate tonal beading, optical shading, or pieced details. the colors centered around white, silver, and coral, but lemon yellow, pale blue, and lime made appearances in solo form or in ombré.

one thing that was puzzling (literally) was the swimwear…while there were a few that worked (i loved the sliced one shoulder one piece on freja), some had too many slices and pieces that would be uncomfortable or create the strangest tan lines. even if the masses won’t wear it, we’ll surely see pics of heidi montag or some other psuedo-celeb in one. hide your eyes.
