since launching his eponymous label in 2010, reed krakoff has been a favorite of mine for not only the modern, architectural clothing but also the beautiful, luxurious handbags—both at accessible (in the age of higher-end fashion) price points. yesterday i was able to attend the pre-fall and fall handbag trunkshow and there were many great options, colors, and materials.

the big news is the launch of a new bag, the uniform, which comes two varieties, the soft (a slouchy, pebbled leather similar to the leather of the gym bag) and the hard (a stiffer, smooth leather). both have multiple external pockets plus inner pockets and metal feet which make it perfect for the working women. the stiffer version, with its silver hardware and minimalist look, reminds me of some of the bags from the row, tom ford, and victoria beckham, without the $2k price tag (the soft retails for $1390 and the hard for $1790).

in addition to the the new styles, there are new colors and leathers (like croc, python, and calf hair) for the classic bags, like the atlantique (the mini version now has a full zipper), the boxer, the standard hobo, the standard mini, and the gym tote. the trunkshow runs through today, with some pre-fall styles available now and new pieces arriving now through late june. the reed krakoff associates are very knowledgeable about all the styles and will help you find the perfect bag for you. with so many great choices, it may be hard to decide.
