go/see/buy: laline

go/see/buy Uncategorized

there’s a little skin and spa oasis on chestnut street, amid the crazy marina atmosphere, called laline. the store, started by two israeli cousins in 1999, has a french country look, with lots of white with black accents, a center sink (sales associates will “wash” your hands using the scrub of your choice…feels and smells heavenly), and head spa at laline, where you can get a blowout, a thai scalp massage, a mini facial among other quick treatments.

the cruelty-free formulas include oils and scents from the provence region of france and minerals from the dead sea that combine to make luxurious products that nourish the skin. some of my favorite products are the dead sea salt scrub (enriched with grapeseed oil and vitamin e, and comes in a variety of scents), the organic time foot cream (perfect for getting feet ready for sandals), and the hand relief lotion. the men’s line includes everything a guy needs for good grooming and skincare, plus has great packaging that men won’t feel embarrassed to have in their medicine cabinet. they also have girls and baby collections (melissa from savvy in san francisco raved about the baby line), plus loungewear, accessories, candles, and more. even better, many of the products are available in gift sets, perfect for father’s day, or just about any other gift giving occasion. there’s also nothing wrong with treating yourself, and laline is the perfect place to do just that.
