ny fashion week kicked off on friday, and rather than commenting on all the shows as i’ve done in the past, i’m going to pick my faves and talk about those. but don’t fret…my pals at coutorture are blogging away, and you can see coverage of all the shows at style.com, elle.com and nymag.com.
rachel roy capitalized on her oprah appearance a few weeks ago by staging a larger showroom show and exploring new techiques such as pintucking on tunic and coat hems and pleating on leather jackets.
the collection also included high waist shift dresses, skinny pants with tight cuffs worn with draped neckline tops and jackets, tie-dyed tulip hem dresses, one shoulder taffeta minidresses, paperbag waist trousers, and patent leather trims and zippers.
