f/w 2006 nyc: graphically speaking.

collections Uncategorized

narciso rodriguez loves architecture. but for his f/w 05 and s/s 06 collections, he strayed away from that and explored new silhouettes. in the eyes of true narciso fans, it wasn’t successful. for f/w, narciso went back to his roots, and presented a stunning collection of mostly black, white and grey looks. the signature seaming was back: mesh or leather inserts on the bodice of dresses with stripes down the side, graphic wrap skirts, cropped short sleeve jackets, and funnel neck cashmere coats.

at night, instead of showing gowns, he stuck to short dresses heavy on the glitz, but not overpowering: tank dresses covered in sequins, a cream silk dress with pailettes down the front and the “narciso” cutout back, an empire dress with leather bodice and pale peach chiffon skirt.

the accessories were also very graphic, from patent leather peep toe wedges to colorblock d’orsay pumps, piped block heel loafers, and cream canvas and leather bags.
