i wrote a while back that a tory burch store was opening on maiden lane this summer, but after walking up and down the street (a lot), i couldn’t for the life of me figure out where it was going to be. quite a few stores have closed on the street recently, but in the places were i thought tory would be, there was nothing happening. i decided to stop by the marc jacobs store last night, and i walked up maiden from kearny street. there were a few stores for rent, so i peeked in the window at the permits and what did i find? the location of the new tb store, near tse and gumps. interesting choice of locale, because from what i remember, the david stephens store was pretty small. but that tory is great at transformations.
