sorry for the lack of posts…i was away over the weekend, and i’m still reading through some of my september mags, but here’s a roundup of some of the smaller (or weaker) issues.
the battle of the country blondes (and people who have dated tony romo) has carrie underwood looking like jessica simpson on the cover of allure and jessica simpson doing a modern take of another of her elle covers on elle. in my opinion, there is no clear winner. as is the case with most mags these days, the eds in elle have stepped up (probably thanks to joe zee’s connections). hana soupoukova does a great turn in “i love the 80s,” stephanie seymour looks amazing in “forever blue jeans,” and the high school musical kids rock a grease vibe in “high school confidential.” with the great articles the mag always has, elle is definitely one you’ll want to pick up.
for our international fans (and readers), mary kate olsen looks fab on the cover of uk elle. it’s a much more fashion-y ed than her turn in elle last month (although that ed was more true to her style). uk vogue has karen elson on the cover, and it’s hard to believe being the consummate british model that this is her first solo cover.
inside eds include “uptown girl” with cat macneil by regan cameron, “what lies beneath” by javier valhonrat (guinevere van seenus), and “dolly mixture” by mario testino (anna selezneva).
