when it comes to completing a look, accessories are the one thing where i always want something unique as a finishing touch. and if you’ve followed me for a while, you know the crux of my style is mixing masculine and feminine pieces. a few months ago, i read about the office of angela scott, and their shoes are so but are also really well made.
scott’s journey to creating footwear is an interesting one, and made me drawn to the brand even more. after starting her career in construction—working on sites in heels while her male counterparts wore oxfords—then transitioning to fashion PR, she saw firsthand the quality workmanship that went into men’s shoes, but not necessarily women’s. she started the office of angela scott in 2012, learning on the factory floor and initially creating bespoke styles before expanding to a full-fledged line. scott does all the designs herself, selects leathers & textiles from italy, and the shoes are made in portugal in a factory that specializes in goodyear welt construction. this over 140 year-old method stitches the top portion through the insole and to the sole, which makes the shoe last longer and thus sustainable.
the line includes everything from loafers, oxfords and monk-strap styles to booties and most recently sneakers. how amazing are these combat boots? and these sneakers are a new take on the slip on style. i was drawn to the mr. jagger chelsea boot knowing they would be fabulous with not only jeans and a blazer, but a fun alternative to a heel with a flirty dress. not only are they supremely chic, but comfortable as well with all the walking i do around san francisco. check out all the styles…i’d love to hear which is your favorite.
