one of the good things to come out of the pandemic (aside from getting a new job), was moving into a larger apartment. i loved my studio so much, but the neighborhood wasn’t great, and being at home all the time, i was craving more space. with rents coming down, i was able to find a bigger place for only a little more than what i was spending. the only problem with having more space is needing to furnish it.
enter allmodern. when i moved to my studio, i got a few pieces from allmodern and their parent brand, wayfair, and i’ve been impressed with the selection and prices…and the fast, free shipping! while my building is older and has some of the charm san francisco places are known for (look at that ceiling crown molding and built-in’s!), i’m going for more of a minimalist look so the architecture really stands out. using the black and white fireplace as an inspiration, the only pop of color will be the blue velvet couch from my old apartment. one pop or accent color is a signature in minimalist design, as is furniture with storage. i do have a lot of stuff, but a closed door tv stand can chicly hide a multitude of things. eye-catching lighting is another place where i want to switch things up. i have a tree floor lamp similar to this one, and i’ll be looking at add something for the ceiling like this single dome pendant.
i’m highlighting a few of the things i’m gravitating towards; i’m collaborating with allmodern so stay tuned for the living room reveal next month. if you’re looking to do a minimalist refresh (or a spring refresh in general), allmodern’s sale of the year starts today with up to 50% off sitewide…happy shopping!
