usually when i go shopping in the midst of sale season, i gravitate right to the thing that isn’t on sale. this time when i was hunting for a white maxi dress to add to my rotation (i’ve already got great options in black and in a print), i found this one at nordstrom, freshly marked down. the slub knit is comfy but the slightly sheer top layer, thigh-high slit and subtle fray trim at the neck and cuffed sleeves give it an edge—perfect with flat sandals for a weekend of errands or the beach, or with heels and a clutch for a night out.
