rittenhouse square has held a special place in my heart for years. as a young girl, i’d walk around there with my dad, getting a soft pretzel from one of the street vendors, then in high school and college, i’m not ashamed to admit i did more than my share of shopping at the urban outfitters at 18th and walnut (it’s now an anthropologie). more recently, it’s my go-to for upscale shopping, like blue mercury, club monaco, barneys, and intermix and good food (more on that to come). the rittenhouse hotel is also where d and i got married, so it’s always fun to head back there, get some truffle fries and ahi tuna from rouge (just like we did a few nights before the wedding), and people watch, especially on a lovely fall day.
