s/s 2008 nyc: vera wang.

collections Uncategorized

vera wang was in a word lovely. her collection had some interesting silhouettes, her signature draping, and a some beautiful colors that were a bit more fall than spring, but gorgeous nonetheless.

some of my favorite looks were a jeweled asymetrical sleeveless top worn with loose silk bermudas, a sand toga like floor length gown, a short sleeve silk coatdress, cinched with a leather belt and worn atop skinny black pants, a silver metallic v-neck dress with taupe hem worn with a thin brown gauzy cardigan, and a turquoise silk suit, which looked like it had a tone on tone pattern, with a great tulip pleated skirt.

the evening looks were equally elegant and wearable. i loved the forest green chiffon dress with strategic draping paired with a big jeweled bib necklace, the long electric blue tent dress with plum and black brushstrokes, and the silk jersey drop waist gown. all of the pieces were very wearable and seasonless, something that i think of alot living in san francisco. this collection would look great now, when the weather is warmer, and in may, when it’s a bit overcast. the best thing is, no matter what the weather, the pieces will brighten your day.
