mandy moore looks luminous on the cover of may’s elle…probably one of the best covers i’ve seen of her. she’s promoting her movie dedication, directed by charlie’s angels: full throttle baddie (and hottie) justin theroux. inside is a gorgeous ed with moore, who seems to be displaying a newfound confidence in herself. i love her attitude about her life and her body, and it’s one more young hollywood women should adapt (see the cover of w for another example of this).
also inside are some stunning editorials with angela lindvall (in benetton’s 40th anniversary collection) and amber valletta. definitely a magazine to pick up.
i’m not quite sure why gwen stefani is on the cover of may’s harper bazaar. i mean her album came out a while ago and i can’t think of anything new she has to promote, except maybe her perfume. but she does look great in dior haute couture.
on the other hand, america ferrera has alot of promote and be happy for. ugly betty is a hit, and ferrera has won a sag, golden globe, and naacp image award. plus she’s taken on the mantle of plus sized star gracefully and beautifully. she looks radiant on the cover of w. however, she was definitely shortchanged in the editorial, where she gets two black and white shots. hopefully another mag will have her on a cover soon with pics of her in some hot designer-wear.
