resort 2014 favorites, part 2.

collections Uncategorized

i’ve got another round up of resort favorites and several themes have started to emerge: cleaner shapes, longer hemlines, wider trousers, boxy tops. tonal dressing, colorblocking, and “splicing” (several different materials in one item) are also on the horizon (or in the case of colorblocking and tonal dressing, continuing on). i’m loving seeing what some of the newer lines are doing, those between high contemportary and low designer (as style.com called it), like cédric charlier and veronica beard. the latter has clearly expanded beyond the dickey jackets they made famous into fully fledged sportswear. charlier, who previously helmed cacharel and worked under alber elbaz at lanvin, is clearly coming into his own in his fourth full season. his collection was sharp and angular, but still feminine, like narciso rodriguez (also featured here).

see my faves in the slideshow and check out part 1 here…happy friday!
