many of the big campaigns have been cast for fall, and the big surprise is the reemergence of the eighties and nineties supers. i have long ago grown tired of the washed out faces, all of 15 or 16, and i’m happy to see that many designers have too.
the big star of fall has to be isabeli fontana, who returns to the fashion world (after a brief time off to become a mom) heading ads for roberto cavalli, valentino and versace. angela lindvall comes in a close second, following up her vuitton campaign from last season with cavalli and valentino this time around.
stefano pilati has gone from gisele (f/w 07.08) to kate moss (spring 08) to naomi campbell for this fall. her recent troubles with the law didn’t seem to derail her workload. speaking of the boss miss moss, she’ll return to roberto cavalli with lindvall and fontana. after casting a bevy of supers in the spring campaign, marc jacobs has returned to one of them, eva herzigova for his fall ads. she was last seen solo in the spring 02 campaign with the launch of the multicolor muramaki bags.
karl lagerfeld is repeating both raquel zimmerman (fendi) and claudia schiffer (chanel). the chanel ads were shot about a month ago in harlem…claudia’s wig looks alot like katie holmes’ recent cut.
