after it was announced that jennifer connelly would be starring in the s/s 08 balenciaga ads, it became one of the most anticipated debuts of the season. well here’s your first look, and i’m torn. there’s no denying jennifer’s beauty, but that blue background isn’t doing her (or that dress) any favors. and in the other half, she looks awesome from the hem up (she’s got a great expression on her face, and i like the position of her arms), but her left leg looks awkward, like it’s being twisted. too early to say that this campaign isn’t successful, but i do like the throwback theme (and really, with this much going on in the clothes, simplicity is better).
