scott sternberg from band of outsiders combined all three of this lines, band (for men), boy (the preppy womenswear line) and the newer, girlier girl for his first runway show and the result was a very cohesive. his inspiration was a book about 70s era climbers in california, so it was only fitting that to open the show, he had male models repelling from the ceiling. gimmicks aside, the two women’s lines seemed to be two sides of the same woman. the boy side craves slouchy suiting, blanket wool ponchos, knit cardigans, fur peacoats, and plaid shirts. the girl side wants floral shirtdresses, cotton and silk knickers, silk pajama pants, and open weave sweaters. the boy line is definitely more my style, but i like seeing sternberg evolve the line and cater to every whim a woman wants.
