you may not equate the words “elegant sophistication” with versace, but the fall collection was just that. the looks included skinny leather pants, short a-line coats, tasteful furs, and high collar slim jackets. the versace sexiness was toned down in the clothes, but not in the shoes, with high stiletto platform mary janes and bright sandals. i’ve never been too into their bags, but i loved the metal and mesh handle fur clutches and stitched satchels.
the stars of the collection as always were the dresses. there were day varieties including long cardigans, deep v-neck shifts and short sleeve a-lines, and cocktail ones with one shoulder necklines or strapless in satin or mixed textures of matte and wet look silk. the gowns were knockout in soft shades of plum, peach, nude, and grey with deep necklines, tonal beading, and intricate pleating. daria delivered the knockout punch in a stunning fuschia number with chiffon flowing from the shoulder. not only will you see versace on the red carpet, but on the pavement too.
