christopher bailey’s last few collections for burberry prorsum have been more nice than naughty. all that changed with the f/w show. bailey really pushed the envelope presenting tight skirts ala leger, bell sleeve and chunky knit sweaters tightly cinched, strapless chiffon dresses worn over thin ribbed knits, and triple belted velvet double breasted coats.
sexed up bustiers with ruching, woolen motorcycle style coats, an olive croc trench, and fur trimmed anoraks were also part of the collection, which had a tinge of the futuristic. the last section included a fringed satin short shift, a chevron textured fur and leather coat, tonal tapestry pieces like a v-neck dress and a short sleeved shirtdress, and a silver beaded t-shirt dress, all worn with dominatrix style leather and croc gloves and lace up platform oxfords.
