paint strokes and splatters ala jackson pollock are having a moment right now thanks to stefano pilati’s brilliant resort collection for yves saint laurent. i loved just about everything from this collection, including these two looks above.
but if you can’t afford ysl ready-to-wear, there’s always accessories, like this ysl raspail coated canvas tote in red or navy with white. measuring 16 x 14 x6, it’s big enough for everyday or for weekend trips (although maybe not the beach). at $995, it won’t break the bank, but is a bit pricey for canvas (and something you can make with a canvas bag from neighborhoodies).
for $245, vince has this cute tankdress with side seam pockets, wide set square straps (for those needing to wear a bra) and an elegant to-the-knee length. if you want the look for less, it’s a dress that will work 3 out of 4 seasons.
