john galliano used a recent trip to japan as inspiration for the dior s/s couture show. he described the collection as “origami meets madame butterfly.”
the construction of the gowns was downright incredible (croc suit, anyone?) and the presentation was stunning. everything was there: structured suiting with multiple layer flap pockets and collars and crystal embroidery, traditional pieces overlaid with japanese scenes, and ornate gowns with micropleated skirts.
