i’ve mentioned this before, but back when i lived on the east coast my style was on the preppy side. barn jackets, vintage tweed blazers, tapered jeans, topsiders, and duck boots dominated my closet, and the ne plus ultra was an oxford button up shirt from ralph lauren. i had an oversized white one that i pretty much wore to death that had the multicolored polo player on the left chest. flash forward to last year when i found this cotton knit oxford shirtdress on sale, and i’ve worn it a few ways since (like under another skirt)—a shirtdress is the ultimate in put-on-and-go. but i love it in its pure state, with a striped shirt tied around the waist for even more prep-ness.
