the new look: bold ruffle.

the new look

every so often, i look back on the blog or my instagram and i realize i’ve been wearing all of the neutrals all of the time. it’s not a bad thing; neutrals should be the basis of your wardrobe because they mix well with colors and prints. i bought this top a few months ago because it was so different from anything else in my closet. the asymmetric sleeves, bias cut ruffle, and bold hue really elevate this piece, and in turn will elevate whatever you pair it with. a bright red top is definitely a statement, but every once in a while, you should be the center of attention. if you want to be even bolder, pair it with another bright, like pink, or if you’re like me and want the red to shine on its own, mix it with black or neutrals.

and speaking of freshening your wardrobe, shopbop’s big sale event kicks off to the public tomorrow, but you can shop it starting today (and get the best selection). get 20% off purchases under $500 and 25% off purchases of $500 or more until april 15th. there are a few exclusions, but it’s the best time to get the trends you have an eye on (like shirts with details), dresses for summer events, and swimwear (i’m all about a cute one piece).

all saints jacketdiane von furstenberg top (up to 25% off with code EVENT17), asos skirt (old, similar under $50 & another option), club monaco sandals, chanel wallet on chain, super matte sunglasses (also available in glossy; up to 25% off with code EVENT17), vintage earrings, rodin lipstick in billie on the bike
