when it comes to finding unique pieces in san francisco, i always rely on a few local boutiques where i know the owner has a really discerning eye. one of those places is elizabeth charles, who opened her namesake store on fillmore street back in 2007, before the influx of chain stores. charles seems to always have her pulse on what’s new and now, being an early adopter of acne, self-portrait, veronica beard, frame, in addition to lots of chic australian designers (where she is from). i’ve gotten a few of my favorite pieces from there, like this no. 21 chambray shirt and my much-loved fur stole.
i was flipping through the racks this weekend and stopped right on this dress by preen. so many things i love in a one-and-done item—it’s black and white in a cool, graphic pattern, it’s made of a stretch, sweater material (i.e., comfy), and a flattering midi length. this wednesday, shopstyle collective is celebrating the relaunch of the elizabeth charles online store with a shopping event at the boutique from 5 to 8. there will be champagne and treats while you check out the newest arrivals. get all the event details here (rsvp at firstname.lastname@example.org).
hope to see you wednesday and have a great week!
