a good sweatshirt is a vital part of my wardrobe, but sometimes that can be too masculine in color and silhouette. i usually dress them up by pairing with a skirt or feminine accessories, but it’s nice when a sweatshirt has some sex appeal built in. the lace up trend started on the fall 2015 runways and has been seen on everything from dresses to skirts to bodysuits, so it makes sense that it would work its way to “athleisure.” i bought this sweatshirt from h and m for my trip to europe and it’s the perfect sexy, throw-on-and-go layer. the v-neck isn’t too deep for day wear, and you could wear this on a date night with a lace bralette underneath. for work, i dressed it up with my favorite pair of cropped leather trousers from helmut lang and pops of red via some suede pumps and the trim on this pierre hardy clutch (which doubles as a chic ipad holder).
zara coat (old, similar) and pumps (similar splurge, mid-range, save), h and m sweatshirt (nearly identical, also like this shorter charcoal version), helmut lang pants (here for less than $450, splurge version, vegan leather), pierre hardy clutch, super sunglasses, michael kors hoops, cluse watch
