remember when everyone was gaga over millennial pink? yea, it’s kinda not my thing, with the exception of this look…because i love a monochromatic moment. a few months ago, the new york times debated what would be the next hot color and not surprisingly lilac was on the list. i’ve long loved lilac, even if it wasn’t found in my closet. that ended last week when browsing at target and saw this lilac mock neck top from their new prologue line. it reminds me of theory or vince—effortless, mix and matchable pieces with interesting details. think faux leather dresses, sherpa vest, tweed coats, plaid suiting, and cotton shirts with blouson sleeves. this top has a mock neck with subtle pleating, a boxier shape that drapes beautifully when tucked in, and ruched three quarter sleeves.
something else back in? camo, which to me has always been in style (as seen here and here). these j.crew pants are very old (i also love that the camo is a less traditional floral) but the olive paired perfectly with the lilac top. throw in a red pump and my favorite black bag and it’s a fresh way to wear lilac. if you’re more traditional, this top would look great with a dark wash jeans and black booties, or tucked into a sleek pencil skirt for the office.
thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
prologue for target top, j.crew floral camo pants (old, more camo picks below), nation ltd sweatshirt (around waist), zara pumps (similar save and splurge), céline sunglasses, future glory bag, argento vivo hoops
