when the bhldn team asked me to pick a dress from their new collection, i immediately gravitated towards the santiago. it is so intricate and interesting; i’ve never seen anything like it. i really love lace, but sometimes it’s hard to find a lace dress that feels sophisticated and not too bridal-y. this one has raised colorblock applique atop a lace foundation that give it a cool, dimensional look. it would be great for a formal wedding but could also be good for the ballet or a fancy night out. to keep the dress the focus, i added neutral accessories—a metallic sandal, black clutch, and sparkly earrings.
