editorial focus: encanto natural.

the glossies

usually when i’m at my favorite magazine store (either juicy news or smoke signals), i gravitate towards the same international editions: those from the uk, france, or australia. but while browsing the fashion spot over the weekend, i came across this editorial from vogue spain that i instantly fell in love with. it felt modern and retro all at the same time. some of the shots, particularly the close up of alana below, reminded me of magazines covers from the early 80s, photographed by francesco scavullo and richard avedon that were all hair and beauty and not really about the clothes.

then you look at the clothes, and it’s a luxurious version of normcore—furs, statement bags, neutrals cashmere sweaters by céline and marni and camel coats from michael kors, givenchy, and valentino. how fun are the pops of pink and turquoise and you can’t have this look without cool sneakers…air max please.
