the haute couture shows ended a week and a half ago, and in the vein of bill cunningham, i was more intrigued by what i saw outside of the shows than inside (for the record, my favorite show was dior). one thing i picked up on was women taking suits or suiting pieces and dressing them down, either with simple tees or graphics, ankle booties, or loafers. i especially love the look 4th from the bottom—slim tuxedo pants paired with a slouchy cardigan. it could look sloppy or dowdy, but it’s all in the proportion, accessories and attitude.
