back in april, menswear brand bonobos introduced their women’s label called AYR (for all year round), and the concept had me intrigued. a selection of clothing for women that works, you guessed it, all year round. headed up by brand director maggie winter (formerly of j.crew and madewell) and design director jacqueline cameron (formerly senior denim designer at madewell) the line is not big on frills or fuss, just well made pieces that are the foundation of every wardrobe—a tweed coat, a soft as can be sweater, a clean button front shirt. they also focused on denim because it’s such a big part of today’s lifestyle, with four fits, seventeen (17!) washes, and nine inseams, with every pair made by hand in los angeles.
AYR just released its latest “edition,” which has so much amazingness, like this drapey top and sexy cami, the perfect cigarette jean, and a dress it up or down black and white coat. you can shop it all online, but if you’re in san francisco, the brand is launching a pop-up shop tomorrow night where you can see the line in person, be fitted for a new pair of jeans, and save 30% off. details are in the invite but i’d love to see you there!
