here’s a breakdown of how i achieved the look above.
a good skincare routine is always the starting point. i’ve made some changes since i last posted mine two years ago. the biggest thing is trying to make it as clean as possible. i’ve started using farmacy green clean or versed day dissolve cleansing balm at night. i discovered beauty pie through grace, and i’ve been loving the super retinol + vitamin c night renewal moisturizer. for day, i switched to origins’ original skin matte moisturizer followed by a spf (i usually go out on a walk mid-day, and my desk is by the window).
since i’m not “seeing” anyone, i just use a light coverage foundation like cover girl’s clean matte bb cream or butter london lumimatte skin tint, and i add a bit of concealer to brighten under the eyes. i brush up my brows and fill them in a little, then add wander beauty’s unlashed mascara. a bit of glossier’s cloud paint (i have storm and dawn and sometimes mix the two) on my cheeks is the perfect wake-me-up. i prefer a more matte finish (i also have combo/oily skin) but with a hint of glow. the milk makeup highlighter push-up tube lets you add subtle shine right where you want it, like cheekbones, top of the nose, or right under the brow bone.
for lips, if i want something more natural, i’ll use dior addict lip tattoo in rosewood; it’s a nice stain that looks like a deepened version of my natural lip color. my other top natural/nude picks are charlotte tilbury matte revolution in bond girl and neutrogena hydroboost lip shine in pink mocha (although i shy away from anything too glossy if i’m going to be on a video call). if i want more of a punch, there’s nars lip gloss in dolce vita (with a bit of a blot) or chanel rouge allure velvet in la fascinante.
