the new look: downtown pink.

i’ll be honest—the 70s thing that’s all over fashion right now is not really me. i talked about it a bit here, but flared jeans, psychedelic prints, and the like that have explored recently (mainly thanks to gucci and chloe) aren’t my bag. but a few weeks ago while perusing asos, i came across this dress that had a definite 70s vibe. i could totally see the top part of this dress with a longer, tiered maxi skirt and in a crazy print. thankfully this dress is a solid (pink, not something i’d normally go for) and short (something i would totally go for), and i thought what the heck. that’s the thing i believe with trends: you have to find the ones that are right for you, and it’s ok if every hot thing that comes down the runway or that’s in vogue magazine isn’t your style. maybe you can incorporate it into your wardrobe in a small way (like a fringed purge or platform sandals) or not at all. you do you.
