continuing to experiment with more color but i’ve noticed a theme in what i’ve been wearing the last few weeks: i’m clearly loving red. i think i originally learned of lingua franca sweaters from alex, and recently the hand embroidered cashmere sweaters have been in the news because of the “i miss barack” and custom resistance versions. owner rachelle hruska started making the sweaters herself (the first one said booyah), put them on instagram, and a business was born. originally the messages were 90s rap lyrics, but she’s since moved into other mottos, and lines from drake and kanye (my sweater features a line from bound 2, famous for the video starring a nude kim kardashian). you can get them online at net-a-porter, saks, and ron herman, but if you fancy putting your favorite lyric or message on a sweater, they do custom orders; just email info@linguafranca.nyc.
instead of pairing the sweater with black or with jeans, i opted for this fun, floral maxi from rebecca taylor. the wrap with ruffle and high opening is sexy in a subtle way, and the darker ground floral is wearable year round.
lingua franca sweater, rebecca taylor skirt, zara sandals (old, similar here and here), chanel wallet on chain, linda farrow x alexander wang sunglasses, ben-amun earrings, chanel rouge coco lipstick in suzanne
