with the weather in new york being unpredictable, i relied on pieces that could be layered in a bunch of different ways. case in point, this shirt dress from the summer, which was a great breezy maxi during the few warm days we had. the neck-to-floor buttons mean i can make it as prim or as sexy as i want, like knotted in front over jeans, belted over leather leggings to work, or a deeper neckline with a lacy bra for a girls night. i brought the leather leggings, jeans, and bra to new york, but for a more casual morning of presentations, i went with the dress as a duster, paired with jeans and a christian dior logo tee i picked up from my friend monica’s vintage pop-up she had recently while visiting sf. my fur jacket added additional warmth and a shorter proportion that tied the look together.
